TENNESSEE PASSES BILL REJECTING GUN CONTROL IMPOSED BY INTERNATIONAL LAW OR TREATY

TENNESSEE PASSES BILL REJECTING GUN CONTROL IMPOSED BY INTERNATIONAL
LAW OR TREATY

On Thursday, the Tennessee senate gave final approval to a bill that sets the foundation to stop enforcement of gun control imposed by international law or treaty. House Bill 2389 would prohibit law enforcement officers from enforcing provisions of international law and treaties that limit gun rights as specified in the state’s constitution.
The bill reads:
"On or after July 1, 2016, no personnel or property of this state, or any political subdivision of this state, shall be allocated to the implementation, regulation, or enforcement of any international law or treaty regulating the ownership, use, or possession of firearms, ammunition, or firearm accessories, if the use of personnel or property would result in the violation of another Tennessee statute, Tennessee common law, or the Constitution of Tennessee."
“This bill prohibits any interference of [the right to keep and bear arms] by international treaty,” said Tennessee Rep. John Windle, who introduced the bill in January.
HB2389 now moves on to Governor Bill Haslam’s desk. He must sign or veto the bill within 10 days of transmittal, or it becomes law without his signature.
If this bill passes, Tennessee will be shielded from the pesky, anti-second amendment UN Arms Trade Treaty which has been described by Gun Owners of America as part of a plan “to bring back the framework for a global gun control regime.”
The ATT was signed by Secretary of State John Kerry on September 25, 2013 but was never ratified by the US Senate.
The NRA blasted the Obama Administration for signing the treaty, saying “This treaty threatens individual firearm ownership with an invasive registration scheme [and is full of regulations and requirements that are] blatant attacks on the constitutional rights of every law-abiding American.”
Recently, Oxfam International renewed its push for the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

PENNSYLVANIA GOVERNOR ISSUES ORDER REQUIRING GROUPS THAT CONTRACT WITH STATE TO HIRE HOMOSEXUALS

The 1682 “Great Law” of Pennsylvania, penned by its founder William Penn, required criminal penalties for those who engage in homosexual acts.
“And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid that if any person shall be legally convicted of the unnatural sin of sodomy or joining with beasts such persons shall be whipped and forfeit one third part of his or her estate and work six months in the house of corrections at hard labor, and for the second offence imprisonment as aforesaid during life,” it read.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Democratic governor of Pennsylvania has signed two executive orders banning government workers from turning down homosexuals and transgenders for Commonwealth contracts and grants, and prohibiting those who contract with the Commonwealth from doing the same.
“These executive orders—one that applies to Commonwealth employees and the other that applies to grants and procurement, say that no agency under the governor’s jurisdiction shall discriminate against any employee or applicant on the basis of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, union membership, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, national origin, AIDS or HIV status, or disability,” Gov. Tom Wolf said before a gathering at the capitol in Harrisburg.
“The employment practices of the Commonwealth must be non-discriminatory,” he continued. “And all businesses contracting with the Commonwealth should use non-discriminatory practices in sub-contracting, hiring, promoting, and other labor matters.”
Wolf also called upon lawmakers to pass legislation that would expand existing non-discrimination laws throughout the Commonwealth as his executive orders only applied at the government level.
“I am urging the legislature to pass a non-discrimination bill that makes it clear to the world that Pennsylvania is a welcoming place for everyone,” he said. “This is the right thing for us to do, just as it was right for William Penn to proclaim that Pennsylvania was a place for everyone regardless of your religion.”
The 1682 “Great Law” of Pennsylvania, penned by its founder William Penn, required criminal penalties for those who engage in homosexual acts.

Wolf said that he was unhappy that the legislature had not yet passed a law to provide protections for homosexual and transgender residents.
“I am troubled by the General Assembly’s inaction on passing non-discrimination legislation,” he said. “Pennsylvania needs to go on record to proclaim that all people—regardless of sexual orientation, gender expression or identity—are treated equally under Pennsylvania law.”
The Pennsylvania Family Council issued a statement following Wolf’s order, stating that it could cause problems for charities that receive contracts or grants from the Commonwealth.
“Under two executive orders signed today, PA is closed for business unless you agree with Gov. Wolf,” said President Michael Geer. “He’s ordering something that could very well exclude thousands of good people from doing business with their own state in their own state.”
“[T]hese executive orders will put the onus on many faith-inspired charities that serve needy Pennsylvanians to prove they are doing Gov. Wolf’s bidding or face complete cut-off of state funds,” the group stated. “Pennsylvania Family Council calls on Gov. Wolf to withdraw these unjust orders.”

Vatican Invites Sanders to a Conference
to Discuss a 'Moral' Economy
By Susan Jones | April 8, 2016 | 8:22 AM EDT

(CNSNews.com) - Bernie Sanders says he's a "big, big fan" of Pope Francis, who has invited him to speak at a Vatican conference on April 15.

"I was very moved by the invitation, which just was made public today," the senator told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Friday.

"Obviously there are areas where we disagree on," Sanders said, pointing to "women's rights" and "gay rights."

"But he has played an unbelievable role -- an unbelievable role -- of injecting the moral consequence into the economy.
"You know, people think Bernie Sanders is radical? Uh-uh. Read what the pope is writing.
"What he is saying is not only that we have to pay attention to what he calls the dispossessed; and again, we don't talk about it enough. These are the children who have no jobs all over the world; youth unemployment is off the charts. The elderly people who are watching this program now who are trying to get by on $11,000 a year -- we don't talk about that.

"But you know what else he's even doing? He's talking about the idolatry of money; the worship of money; the greed that's out there. How our whole culture is based on, I need more and more and more. And I don't have to worry about veterans sleeping out on the street or elderly people who can't afford their prescription drugs.

"And he's trying to inject a sense of morality into how we do economics...and we need that absolutely, desperately."

The Vatican conference on April 15 will address social, economic and environmental issues.

"Pope Francis has made clear that we must overcome the globalization of indifference in order to reduce economic inequalities, stop financial corruption and protect the natural environment. That is our challenge in the United States and in the world,” Sanders said in a statement carried by wire services.

The Washington Post quoted Sanders as saying, “I am grateful to the Vatican for inviting me to talk about an issue that is very dear to my heart, which is how we create a moral economy that works for all of the people rather than just the top one percent."

Sanders said he also plans to address "the planetary crisis of climate change and the moral imperative to make sure we leave this planet in a way that is healthy and habitable for future generations.”

COMMENTARY ABOUT THE ARTICLE ABOVE BY PASTOR RALPH OVADAL, PILGRIMS COVENANT CHURCH, MONROE, WISCONSIN:
No surprise here. Avowed socialist Bernie Sanders, who spent his honeymoon in the then Soviet Union, has been invited to the pope’s conference: “The Vatican conference on April 15 will address social, economic and environmental issues.” But wait--Sanders is a hard-core pro-abort politician. No matter. Popery is pragmatic, not pro-life. “Pro-life” works for popery at the present time. But even so, Rome has made it clear that the murder of the unborn is not all that important to the big picture. What really matters to Rome is power; and this popery pursues by enslaving people through priestcraft while at the same time endearing itself to multitudes as a champion of the poor, including through a political lobbying apparatus in civil power centers around the world--including our federal and state capitols--which is second to none in funding and influence.

Further, socialism works for Rome in that socialism is all about power being concentrated in a few central governments which in turn can be the better influenced and, as is hoped by the papal power, controlled more and more by Rome. This is the same reason the Vatican is so very deeply concerned about “environmental issues” led by “global warming.” Is Pope Francis a socialist? He is only being true to the economic teachings/political polity of Rome dating all the way back to that revered doctor of the church, “St.” Thomas Aquinas, the godfather of liberation theology. This aspect of popery is documented, for instance, in thePontifical Council for Justice and Peace Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church. (See http://www.pccmonroe.org/Ecumenism/2009.01.08.htm.) All of the popes have been socialists.

By the way, the Roman Catholic Church organization Catholic Charities USA receives more tax dollars than any other charitable organization in our nation! A panoply of smaller Catholic charities also receives a huge amount of government largesse. All told, we are talking about billions in tax dollars yearly--not even millions, but billions! Your tax dollars at work, spreading Romish blasphemy, even while winning influence and proselytes to Rome. Talk about a true constitutional violation of church and state!
